NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The District of New Mexico US Attorney stated a man was charged with sexual abuse. It's alleged he assaulted a 15-year-old girl. Thomas Lee Chaffins, 35, of the Mescalero Apache Tribe, is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a 15-year-old on September 27. Reports also stated the girl was intoxicated and couldn't recall details of the incident. Chaffins faces up to life in prison if he's convicted.
