Oct 25, 2024
BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority warns residents to expect delays on the Mount Hope Bridge starting Oct. 28.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., one lane on the bridge will be closed, and traffic will alternate.
Lane closure is expected to continue through Nov. 11.
During this two week period, the bridge will be inspected for safety.
“Safety is always our top priority, and routine inspections like these are essential to maintaining the bridge’s integrity and ensuring it remains reliable for all who use it,” the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority Executive Director Lori Caron Silveira said. “We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we carry out this necessary work.”
Drivers are encouraged to set aside extra time in case of potential delays.
