CARNEY, Okla. (KFOR) — On Thursday, a man has been convicted on charges including first degree murder for his role in the shooting death of another man in Lincoln County back in 2023. Court records show 44-year-old Clyde Clayton was found guilty of first degree murder, unlawful removal of a dead body, and desecration of a human corpse by a Lincoln County jury on Thursday. Clyde Clayton. Image courtesy Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. Clayton was charged for the shooting death of Brian Corey back in July 2023, along with Corey's girlfriend Janelle Brown. Brown pleaded guilty to first degree murder on October 15. Woman pleads guilty to 2023 Lincoln County murder Brown and Clayton are accused of shooting Corey to death in the home they all shared in the town of Carney. The two of them allegedly burned Corey’s body afterward, along with the recliner he was sitting in and ceramic tile covered in blood. In July, Brown reportedly led investigators to the burn site, where they discovered burned bone, ceramic tile, and a metal knee implant similar to Corey’s. Clayton's sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 3, where he faces a possible sentence of life without parole.
