MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A girl's basketball coach at a Fayette County private school has been indicted in Shelby County on a charge of sexual battery by an authority figure. Jeremy Moore, 35, was indicted by a Shelby County grand jury Oct. 10. He was booked into jail Monday, and posted a $100,000 bond Thursday, records show. According to that indictment, Moore allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a person under age 18 but over 13, between April 23 and 26 this year. It stated he used a "position of trust to accomplish the sexual contact." Moore was listed Friday on the Rossville Christian Academy website as the girls basketball coach, assistant football coach and P.E. teacher. Rossville Christian Academy's head of school Chip Blanchard, reached by phone Friday evening, said he could not comment on personnel matters, but said Moore is not allowed on campus or around students until further notice. He also said Rossville Christian Academy has not been asked by any law enforcement agency to provide information. According to the school website and a July 10 post by the school, Moore was hired by Rossville Christian Academy this summer. He previously served as head coach for the girls basketball team at First Assembly Christian School in Memphis, where he led the team to back-to-back district championships. WREG has reached out to FACS for comment.
