KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A few months ago, a Kansas City woman's wedding ring was lost after she took it in for repairs at a local store. Although she didn't take her ring to Helzberg Diamonds initially, the company saw the story and provided a free custom ring to match the one that was lost. Today, she got that ring. KC Sports Commission, Mayor Lucas make their case for a WNBA team Her reaction to seeing the ring was priceless. A moment forever etched in her and the team at Helzberg Diamond's minds. "It has been so worth the wait it is incredible," Stacey Herken said. "I just absolutely love it and it's so much higher quality." What started with a snag in her old ring and a trip to the JCPenny jeweler turned into a nightmare. Herken said back in June that the store lost the ring and refused to replace the ring's full value. Helzberg Diamonds saw the story about the lost ring. The next day, Helzberg stepped in a major way. Surprising Stacey not only with a new free ring but also they were also willing to customize it to match the one that her husband had given her years ago. "I can't thank you all enough you guys have done so much for me and my husband and brought our wedding ring back,” Herken said. The moment was equally as special for the designer who oversaw the customization. She doesn't normally get the opportunity to meet the people that she helps because today she got the chance to help write this final chapter. "It makes me feel so special and every teary honestly, just a little bit overwhelming to be able to stand with her today and to see her face when she opened the box and it's all set and ready to go," said Alisha Betts, a designer at Helzberg Diamonds.
