EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Sports fans, athletes, students and others can expect a busy night at the Field of Dreams complex on Friday, Nov. 1, Las Cruces Public Schools said in a news release issued on Friday, Oct. 25. Las Cruces and Centennial high schools will meet in the regular-season finale of the football season that night. Parking for Nov. 1 at the Field of Dreams complex in Las Cruces That matchup is expected to draw a lot of fans and parking will be at a premium, LCPS said. To accomodate that, the district is only allowing one parking space per vehicle and recreational vehicles will not be allowed, LCPS said. Fans will also have to follow the LCPS clear bag policy that went into effect earlier this year. No pop-up shade tents will be allowed and pedestrian traffic inside the football stadium between the east and west side will be prohibited, LCPS said. Fans planning to attend the football game are advised to use the parking lots on either side of the football stadium – Centennial is the home team and will park west of the stadium (near the press box) and Las Cruces, the visitor, will park on the east side. The Field of Dreams Soccer Complex will be hosting playoff games that night, and the district will also host its first-ever Roadrunner Rally Grill and Thrill barbecue contest from 4 to 7 p.m. that night. Soccer fans should use the dirt lots north of Field 1 and Field 2, LCPS said. People attending the barbecuse cookoff should park within the gated area of the Field of Dreams baseball parking lot, 2300 Tashiro Dr. The overflow lot for the barbecue event will be the southernmost end of the east side parking lot for the football stadium. Motorists in the Field of Dreams area are asked to watch out for pedestrians, follow the posted speed limit and use caution.
