North Charleston police arrest man accused in 'At Home' armed robbery

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities quickly arrested a man who stole items from a North Charleston business while armed with a knife.
Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded to the At Home store on Rivers Avenue around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
A 9-1-1 caller said a suspect, who was armed with a large filet knife, had stolen merchandise from the store.
According to the agency, an officer was patrolling the parking lot of a Stay Express hotel when they spotted the suspect, who ran toward the woods behind the hotel.
The officer and K-9 Ghost went after the suspect, and K-9 Ghost apprehended the individual.
Jail records show 27-year-old Dashawn Mazyck was arrested on a charge of armed robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
