MINOT, ND (KXNET) — A crash involving a cyclist and a pickup truck at the Minot intersection of 8th St. NE and 7th Ave. NE has sent a teen to the hospital with serious injuries. According to the Minot Police Department, at about 5:14 p.m. October 24, a 14-year-old boy was riding his bicycle westbound on 7th Ave., when he failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a Dodge Ram pickup truck.Witnesses at the scene said the cyclist tried to brake, but the bicycle’s brakes appeared to be malfunctioning. The driver of the pickup truck tried to stop but was unable to avoid the crash.The driver of the Dodge Ram was not cited. Officers gave the cyclist a written warning for Traffic Rules Apply to Bicycles. Minot man killed in officer-involved shooting Friday morning Emergency responders arrived and administered aid to the 14-year-old. The boy was transported to Trinity Hospital ER and later airlifted to Sanford Fargo for serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.
