GOP vice presidential hopeful Sen. JD Vance (Ohio) is hosting a town hall in the critical battleground of North Carolina Friday evening. He is expected to target Vice President Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, on inflation, immigration and the Biden administration's response to Hurricane Helene, according to the campaign. Polling shows former President Trump, Vance's running mate, and Vice President Harris locked in a tight race in the Tar Heel State. The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's aggregate of polls shows Trump leading Harris by just 1.5 points in the state — 49.1 percent to 47.6 percent. The town hall in Monroe, N.C., is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. EDT. Watch the live video above.
