Westminster police are investigating an attempted kidnapping after someone tried to abduct a girl at gunpoint near Mountain Range High School on Friday morning. The student refused and the man grabbed her backpack and took off, police officials said in a news release Friday. She made it to school safely and reported the incident. A description of the man and vehicle was not immediately available and police are still investigating, department officials said. This is a developing story and may be updated.
