RYEGATE, Vt. (myCV) - The FBI said Thursday that they are investigating a shooting incident and have one person in custody after an alleged assault on a U.S. Marshal. Nearly a dozen arrested in alleged drug operation near Springfield train tracks Earlier Thursday, the U.S. Marshals Service confirmed that a shooting had taken place involving one of their Marshals. Officials said a vehicle chase started in New Hampshire with both local law enforcement and the U.S. Marshals Service. The chase ended on Route 5 in Ryegate, Vermont around 1:15 p.m. Thursday. MAP: Ryegate, Vermont The FBI said they would remain in the area to process the scene with their partners from the Vermont State Police. There is no word on the extent of any injuries. The FBI believes there is no threat to the general public.
