RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (WSAV) – A huge weekend kicks off Friday in Richmond Hil, with the 25th year for the Great Ogeechee Music and Seafood Festival. The event will be held at J.F. Gregory Park, bringing together music lovers and seafood enthusiasts for two days of fun. The festival features three of the largest music acts to date on Friday and Saturday. After more than two days of setting up, organizers are ready for thousands of people to walk through the entrance gates. The Great Ogeechee Music and Seafood Festival is known as one of the largest of its kind in the Southeast. To celebrate 25 years, organizers tell WSAV they have plenty of surprises in store for this year. Spooky season 2024: Local Halloween events "We've got everything from crawfish to cajun seafood to lobster. It really runs the game out on everything. A lot of our local restaurants are out here," said Summer Beal, the Richmond Hill Bryan County Chamber president. You can expect delicious fried fish, shrimp, amusement park rides and a fantastic lineup featuring the Marshall Tucker Band, Clint Black and Sara Evans. "You can buy an all-you-can-ride wristband and stay all day long and ride all the rides," said Beal. "We also have the entertainment, we have all of our vendor booths that include food, arts and crafts, businesses. So there is really something for everyone out here." Last year, the festival saw more than 18,000 people. That number is expected to grow this year to over 25,000 people. With over 100 vendors and live entertainment from Georgia's finest, this is Richmond Hill's largest outdoor gathering. "With the upgraded Ogeechee Music and Seafood Festival, this is something that we really try to showcase all that Bryan County has to offer," said Beal, adding, "I think it's great for these local restaurants to showcase what they have, and what they have in their restaurants. Because we can get people to buy local and shop local." The festival runs Friday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. (featuring a special flyover on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.) If you buy tickets at the gate, they're $30. Ages 9 to 15 are $15. Kids and 8 and under are free. For those interested in more information or tickets, visit here.
