The spokesperson also confirmed several students on the football team have since been suspended. Santa Fe police are still investigating. [2] Roswell City Council approves emergency declaration to aid in recovery efforts - The city of Roswell is continuing to recover after major flooding in the area. As of now, school is expected to be back in session on Monday. City Hall and the airport are back open, but the zoo is still closed. Mayor Tim Jennings says more than 100 businesses have been impacted and that the Civic Center and Museum will likely stay closed until next year. Thursday, the Roswell City Council approved an emergency declaration that allows the city to request funding and resources from the state to cover repairs and other emergency expenses. [3] Cooler temperatures before a warm up - A cold front will bring in slightly cooler air Friday. Another warmup this weekend will bring more record heat Sunday and Monday. A warmup begins again on Saturday as a record strong area of high pressure continues to grow over northern Mexico. We will once again be talking about record and near-record high temperatures Sunday and Monday across parts of New Mexico, as dry weather also continues. [4] New cantina opens at Ladera golf course clubhouse - Ladera golf course's new cantina is officially open. The city of Albuquerque says the project began about eight months ago. The new additions create a shaded bar space at the clubhouse connecting to the outdoor patio and banquet room. The project was funded by GO bonds and state capital outlay funds. [5] New Mexico Film Office says busy production year is coming despite holiday slowdown - The state’s film and television industry are celebrating a milestone of over a billion dollars in economic impact this year. New infrastructure and competitive financial incentives play a part in what’s drawing filmmakers to New Mexico. Fifteen productions are currently being filmed in the state.
