Lexington police arrest suspect after barricade standoff

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Lexington man is in custody following an hours-long barricade standoff that ended late Thursday night.
The Lexington Police Department reports that 47-year-old Jason Fields was arrested around 9:15 p.m., after a standoff that began around 2:45 p.m. on Potomac Drive, near Man O’ War Boulevard and Winthrop Drive. Officers responded to reports of an armed individual at the residence, leading to road closures around the area as they worked to resolve the situation.
Police reopened the roads after Fields was taken into custody, and the scene was cleared.
