LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Friday! After a chilly start to the day in spots, we will be warming up quickly this afternoon. Temperatures will plateau around the upper 70s for most, with a few low 80s across the Bluegrass region. There is also the chance of a few late day rain showers. This is ahead of a passing cold front that will drop our temperatures by the weekend. Don’t expect much rain Friday evening into the overnight hours, a tenth of an inch or so in most locations that do see rain. COOLER WEEKEND Skies will be clearing out during the morning hours on your Saturday giving way to cool, fall-like afternoon. Temperatures will only peak around the low-to-mid 60s. Heading to the Kentucky-Auburn football game at Kroger Field? It’s going to be a little chilly Saturday evening after sunset. The temperature at kickoff (7:45 p.m.) will be around the mid-50s and will fall into the mid-40s by the end of the game. Sunday morning will also drop into the mid-to-upper 30s. Sunday afternoon will be a few degrees cooler than Saturday, with most locations staying in the low 60s. WARMING UP NEXT WEEK Monday morning will be chilly, but that chill won’t last long. We expecting another big warm-up that will start Monday afternoon. Low-to-mid 70s will be possible on Monday, while mid-to-upper 70s will be returning by Tuesday. This well-above average warmth is expected to continue through Halloween. That’s where we will see some changes. WARMTH WITH RAIN POSSIBLE ON HALLOWEEN A strong cold front will be sweeping across the country on Halloween. Our current forecast has rain showers arriving late evening on Halloween, into November 1st. It’s still too early for exact timing, but that is where things stand right now. You can expect warm conditions on Halloween day, with some rain showers possible later in the day into the overnight. Rain chances finally look to increase with a couple systems swinging through the early into early November.
