(WFRV) - The Oshkosh Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Unit conducted a significant drug bust Thursday, seizing large quantities of illegal substances and cash from two residences in the city. The investigation began with complaints from community members, prompting authorities to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 1700 block of Lombard Avenue. On Oct. 24, shortly before 6:15 a.m., officers executed the warrant and discovered approximately 30 grams of cocaine, 50 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and more than $3,000 in cash. The search yielded a substantial find: around one kilogram of cocaine, 7.5 pounds of marijuana, over 1,000 THC cartridges, and approximately $330,000 in cash. A 51-year-old Oshkosh man was arrested on charges including possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug dwelling, and possession with intent to deliver cocaine and THC. The case will be referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin for possible federal prosecution. "I am proud of the hard work our investigators did," said Oshkosh Police Chief Dean Smith. "If you are dealing drugs in our community, we will find you and arrest you." Chief Smith credited community members for their vigilance in reporting drug activity, which played a key role in the investigation. "Their proactive communication helped us maintain the safety and well-being of our community," he said.
