COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– CAE, Paradies Lagardère and USO South Carolina have teamed up to help the people that have been affected by Hurricane Helene in Western, N.C. With the winter season coming up, so will a weather change so they are teaming up to collect items to help people in that area get through the winter weather. From now through Sunday, November 3, new coats, jackets, hoodies, winter hats, winter boots, gloves, socks, and blankets can be donated. Also bottled water and hand warmers will be collected too. Anyone traveling through CAE or just in the area, is asked to consider donating items. Columbia Metropolitan Airport officials say donations can be dropped off 24/7 inside the Public Safety truck parked in the main lobby.
