(Image: Bismarck PD) BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Bismarck law enforcement and health officials say their annual drug take-back event was a success, netting 78 pounds of unused and expired medications ranging from plain aspirin to powerful narcotics with a street value of $110,000. The event, held at the Bismarck Senior Center, was a collaborative effort between the Bismarck Police Department, Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health, the North Dakota National Guard and the CDC Foundation. "This year, we collected an incredible 78 pounds of unused and expired medications, ranging from everyday ibuprofen to potent narcotics with a street value of over $110,000!" the groups posted on Facebook. "Thank you to everyone who participated in keeping our community safe by ensuring these medications are disposed of properly. Together, we can help prevent drug misuse and protect our loved ones!"
