BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- An investigation into narcotics and firearms trafficking led to the arrest of four men in Baton Rouge. During the investigation, law enforcement got a search warrant for a home on Convention Street. When it was executed on Wednesday, Oct. 23, a gun, drugs, and cash were seized from the home. BRPD said they confiscated $224, a Jimenez Arms 9mm handgun, 52 grams of meth, one ounce each of crack cocaine and powder cocaine, 21.9 grams of marijuana in bags, 7.5 grams of synthetic marijuana and three dosage units of MDMA. The investigation initially focused on Henry Joseph, 52. He was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal carrying of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, three counts of distribution of Schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and distribution of Schedule I narcotics. Baton Rouge Police arrest man accused in murder-for-hire shooting According to BRPD, "Joseph has been arrested over 50 times for charges ranging from outstanding warrants, contempt of court and various narcotics offenses." Mark Shephard, 53, was charged with fugitive (bench warrant for possession of Schedule II), misrepresentation during booking and resisting an officer. Desmond Franklin, 18, was charged with illegal carrying of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, three counts of distribution of Schedule II narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and distribution of Schedule I narcotics. Dominic Simpson, 27, was charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule I narcotics and one count of possession of Schedule I narcotics.
