Between the World Series and a slew of other ball games, a music festival, and the first big Halloween weekend, Southland traffic this weekend may be one for the books.  Other outlets are calling it “Carmageddon 2024,” but we prefer the more jubilant “World Series Jampionship,” celebrating both our wonderful Boys in Blue and our internationally renowned traffic crisis. Let’s take a look at some big events that will impact traffic so you can plan accordingly: FRIDAY, OCT. 25 Sports World Series Game 1 — Dodgers vs. Yankees, Dodgers Stadium, 5:08 p.m. (Chavez Ravine) Lakers vs. Suns, Crypto.com Arena, 7 p.m. (L.A. Live) USC vs. Rutgers, LA Memorial Coliseum, 8 p.m. (Downtown) 89th East LA Classic — Garfield High vs. Roosevelt High, SoFi Stadium, 7:30 p.m (Inglewood) And don’t forget all the street traffic from fans headed to bars and watch parties. Music Here’s a sampling of the events tonight: Escape Halloween, Night 1, NOS Events Center, 4 p.m. (San Bernardino) — 60,000 attendees per night, meaning thousands of LA ravers will be headed eastbound Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Night 1, Kia Forum, 7 p.m (Inglewood) David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, Intuit Dome, 7:30 p.m. (Inglewood) Codiciado, YouTube Theater, 8 p.m. (Inglewood) Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse – Live In Concert, Dolby Theatre, 8 p.m. (Hollywood) Jay Wheeler, Peacock Theater, 8 p.m. (L.A. Live) Snow Strippers, The Novo, 8 p.m. (L.A. Live) From Mexico to Hollywood – Golden Age Cinema with John Williams, Walt Disney Concert Hall, 8 p.m. (Downtown) War, Greek Theatre, 6 p.m. (Griffith Park) — careful, you might get stuck behind a bunch of low riders on Los Feliz Blvd, and I hear they drive a little slower. Halloween Tonight’s also the start of the first big Halloween weekend, meaning all the theme parks, parties and frights will be in full effect — any individual event can back up cars a few exits, but with all the simultaneous events, traffic will surely compound: Universal Studios Hollywood Horror Nights (Universal City) Knotts Scary Farm (Buena Park) Halloween Time at Disneyland (Anaheim)  Los Angeles Haunted Hayride (Griffith Park) Cirque du Soleil – Kooza, Under The Big Top Santa Monica, 8 p.m. (Santa Monica) KCRW’s Masquerade, The Mayan (Downtown) Spanish Dracula, The United Theater on Broadway, 8 p.m. (Downtown) Halloweenie, Academy, 8 p.m. (Hollywood) SATURDAY, OCT. 26 If you looked at Friday’s lineup and thought, “Hey, at least there’s not an event at the Bowl,” Saturday offers a special treat. Sports World Series Game 2 — Dodgers vs. Yankees, Dodgers Stadium, 5:08 p.m. (Chavez Ravine) LA Kings vs. Utah Hockey Club, Crypto.com Arena, 1 p.m. (Downtown) Lakers vs. Sacramento Kings, Crypto.com Arena, 7:30 p.m. (Downtown) Galaxy vs. Rapids, Dignity Health Sports Park, 8 p.m. (Carson) UFC 308 – Topuria vs. Holloway Immersive Experience, Cosm, 11 a.m. (Inglewood) Music Escape Halloween, Night 2, NOS Events Center, 4 p.m. (San Bernardino) Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Night 2, Kia Forum, 7 p.m (Inglewood) Residente, YouTube Theater, 8 p.m. (Inglewood) Imagine Dragons, Night 1, Hollywood Bowl, 7 p.m. (Hollywood) Deorro, Academy, 10 p.m. (Hollywood) Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse – Live In Concert, Dolby Theatre, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. (Hollywood) Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Greek Theatre, 7 p.m (Griffith Park) Los Alegres del Barranco, Peacock Theater, 8 p.m. (L.A. Live) From Mexico to Hollywood – Golden Age Cinema with John Williams, Walt Disney Concert Hall, 8 p.m. (Downtown) Dom Dolla, The Dock at the Historic Sears Building, 5 p.m. (Boyle Heights) Halloween Universal Studios Hollywood Horror Nights (Universal City) Knotts Scary Farm (Buena Park) Halloween Time at Disneyland (Anaheim)  Los Angeles Haunted Hayride (Griffith Park) Cirque du Soleil – Kooza, Under The Big Top Santa Monica, 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. (Santa Monica) Día de los Muertos, Hollywood Forever, 10 a.m. (Hollywood) Spanish Dracula, The United Theater on Broadway, 8 p.m. (Downtown) Mayan Warrior Halloween, Los Angeles Grand Park, 5 p.m. (Downtown) Expanded Metro As you can see, nearly every corner of SoCal will have some major event Friday and Saturday, so no freeway is safe. Take public transport if you can — Metro will be expanding their service of Dodger express shuttles and lines A, B, D and E. For those of us who have to drive, we’ll happily take all this traffic if it means the Dodgers are playing in late October. So if at any point this weekend you find yourself like the low rider — not going too fast — take a deep breath and appreciate the embarrassment of riches we have in LA when it comes to sports and fun. (Or maybe just stay home.)   @raisedonrice_ plan wayyyyy ahead if youre thinking of going to LA on Friday! #fyp #worldseries #dodgers #yankees #losangeles #newyork #usc #baseball #usc #football #lakers #greenscreen ♬ original sound – raisedonrice_ The post World Series Jampionship: All the Events That Will Cause a Traffic Nightmare This Weekend appeared first on LA Weekly.
