Photos by David Dow/NBAE via Getty Images The funds awarded $200,000 to local organizations Per a Spurs press release: Spurs Give and Frost Bank (Frost) awarded a total of $200,000 to two local organizations as part of Operation Renovation. The funding was granted to the Madonna Center and Teatro de Artes de Juan Seguin to help enhance their facilities to provide students with safe places to play and learn. Online applications for the 2024-25 Operation Renovation Grant are now open through Friday, Nov. 15 at 11:59 p.m. Since 2018, nearly a million dollars has been allotted to organizations serving local youth through the partnership. Each year, $100,000 is available to eligible applicants. Says Julie McCarty, Director of Community Investments for Spurs Sports & Entertainment, “We are so excited to continue our sixth year of Operation Renovation with Frost. These grants have proven to be transformative to the organizations who receive them and we remain committed to investing in these efforts for our community.” The Madonna Center is using their funds to enhance their facilities. The renovations include upgrades to play areas and community spaces. Teatro De Artes De Juan Seguin will install fencing and sliding gates at the front of their property. Interiorly, they are renovating the kitchen to include AC and heating and building build an ADA-accessible ramp from their kitchen. Stated Donna C. Richardson, Senior Vice President and CRA Officer at Frost Bank, “Frost is proud to be a partner in the Operation Renovation program, which provides much-needed facility funding to nonprofits working to ensure safe and decent spaces for their programs within their communities. These two entities are well-deserving of this grant, which will help further their mission, goals and objectives of making a positive impact in the lives of families and children. Working to make lives better is what Frost strives to do every day, as do these worthy entities.” Work is expected to be completed in the next few weeks. Welcome to the Thread.
