What is Keiki Kingdom? Come follow me and lets find out together. So the first thing you'll get is a pair of grip socks so you are not going to slip all over the place. There is a lot of plastic around. We are in one of the plastic balls and we also with one of the owners and the CEO of Keiki Kingdom, we are here with Peter Wang. Tell us a little bit about what Keiki Kingdom is all about. "So, Keiki Kingdom is not just an indoor playground, its also about building family bonds," says Wang. "At Keiki Kingdom, its about family, its about kids, getting exercise, its about this magical experience." I think especially in the age that we live in with technology, cell phones, iPads, its so easy to get and stay distracted from our technology. "Definitely. So, if you want family bonding, we actually allow parents and adults to participate in all our jungle gyms, our trampolines, in the whole park. Bonding is very important to us and to all the keiki and ohana," says Wang. I think the good thing about this is to remind the bigger kids that we are still are a kid on the inside. There are two stories, the first floor is more keiki friendly I think you would say, and upstairs is a little more for the bigger kids. "Yes. So, with the two floors, we are able to two a hybrid based model. First floor is mainly for the younger kids, elementary to middle. Upstairs is going to be for middle, high school, and also parents," says Wang. There are some things in here that has never been seen across the US? Efforts underway to rebuild iconic bridge at Liliuokalani Gardens "That's right," says Wang. "We are actually the first company to order something that is like an indoor Mario simulation. You are Mario so you are running through the obstacle course. Also, we have AR games which is going to be interactive, gun shooting. We have trampoline AR games, so lots of new tech, lots of new innovations." Especially with kids playing in the same area and coming out of COVID and the illnesses, cleanliness and keeping things clean and safe. What is the procedure that you all have in place? "Definitely the health and safety is the most important thing here, so what we do is that every employee has a spray bottle that has sanitizer," says Wang. "If your child touches anything like the toys, they will sanitize it immediately. Also, we hire a professional cleaning company that comes in. They use hospital grade sanitizer that sprays out all the surfaces in the whole playground." And this is the grand opening this weekend for your second location, the first one being in Makiki in town. Are there any future plans for future locations? "Definitely, we are looking at outer islands. A lot of people are demanding they want Maui, they want Big Island, they want Kauai. So, we do want to expand and we also have people inquiring about franchising onto the mainland," says Wang. So, again, this is the Keiki Kingdom and its grand opening of its second location here at Pearlridge Center. The grand opening is going to be this Saturday starting at 10 a.m. all the way to 8 p.m., so you have a full day with two different levels to check out all the different equipment.
