SALISBURY, N.C (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man is behind bars in connection with a woman's murder, according to the Salisbury Police Department. Around 6:48 on Wednesday, Oct. 23, officers were called to a grocery store parking lot in the 2000 Statesville Blvd. They arrived to find a 57-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries from an assault, officials say. Despite attempts to save her life, the woman died in the parking lot. Investigation underway in Winston-Salem after body found outside parking deck The next day, around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, authorities searched an apartment on Clancy Street, reportedly finding evidence linked to the homicide prompting the arrest of 44-year-old Herman Donald Floyd III. Floyd is being held without bond at the Rowan County Detention Center. The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt.
