DA: Castro Valley husband attempted to kill wife holding baby
Oct 24, 2024
(KRON) -- Prosecutors said a Castro Valley husband is facing attempting murder charges after he stabbed his wife while she was holding their baby.
Guillermo Renderos, 34, slashed his wife "numerous times with a bladed weapon," investigators said. The wife was beaten and stabbed as she clutched their baby in her arms, prosecutors said.
The brutal attack happened on Wisteria Street on the afternoon of October 17, according to Alameda County Sheriff's deputies. Witnesses who quickly called 911 likely saved the woman's life, the AC Sheriff's Office said.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged Renderos with premeditated attempted murder, domestic violence, kidnapping, and child abuse. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 12 at Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
