WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Careers within STEM continue to boom across the country. One school in Westfield is hoping to inspire local youth to join that growing field. 22News spoke with school officials at Westfield Technical Academy Thursday evening, who tell us that there is a growing need for students to join this workforce. During Massachusett's observation of STEM week this week, Westfield Technical Academy held an open house Thursday night to showcase its different technical career-focused programs. The community tonight was able to get a glimpse of the 11 shops within the facility, to see what that school has to offer to students in the world of technical careers. From automotive to culinary, and even aviation--this school's goal is to create a pathway for its students.
