Santa Fe High School head football coach placed on leave amid hazing investigation

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Santa Fe High School football head coach is on administrative leave Thursday night amid a hazing investigation. A spokesperson for Santa Fe Public Schools confirmed with KRQE News 13 that Andrew Martinez will be on leave for the remainder of the season. He also confirmed that several students on the football team have since been suspended.

The school said Joey Jiron will be the interim head coach and Louann Padilla will be the the interim athletic manager. This is Martinez's second time on paid leave. Santa Fe police are still investigating.
