MINOT, ND (KXNET) — As the massive flood protection project continues in the city of Minot, the design for the MI-4 phase of the project is changing. After a few years, a design has now been made that meets railway requirements. This new design means buying eleven more properties. City staff is recommending that Minot City Council adopt the alignment presented by The Souris River Joint Board and approve the buying of more properties. Minot Fire Department gets donation to help respond to rail emergencies Owners impacted by it met with those on the design team before the designs were presented to the city council, back in August. "I'll tell you, between reading the comments we were given and reaching out and talking directly to the people affected by this, that I feel comfortable, as hard as it is and as a rotten of a process as it is, that this is the right path. With one very big caveat," said Minot councilmember Mike Blessum." "The big caveat to that is that these property owners are made whole." The motion passed unanimously. Close Thanks for signing up!
