AUSTIN (KXAN) — Vista Ridge notched its third consecutive victory and positioned itself for a playoff push with a 31-14 win over Manor on Thursday at Gupton Stadium. The Rangers move to 4-2 in District 25-6A and are all alone in third place heading into Friday's action. Hutto takes on Vandegrift, and if the Hippos can upset the district-leading Vipers, they'll move back into a tie with Vista Ridge. Manor receiver Jonathan Buhendwa made a highlight-reel grab for the Mustangs' first touchdown. He reached over a Vista Ridge defender in the end zone to haul in a 41-yard touchdown pass from Camden Huff in the third quarter. Huff threw another touchdown on a screen pass to Jordan Clark for a 20-yard score in the fourth quarter. JD Jackson and Deshaun Castillo had rushing touchdowns for Vista Ridge in the first half. Vista Ridge (5-3, 4-2) takes on Hutto next week and Manor (1-7, 1-5) hosts McNeil.
