PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A couple has been arrested after allegedly "conspiring together" in two different burglaries in Porterville, the Porterville Police Department said. According to police, two different burglaries were reported earlier this month. On Oct. 3, police say a commercial burglary was reported and cosmetic and business supplies were stolen. Police say another burglary was also reported- but this time it was a vehicle burglary and it was reported on Oct. 10. The victim's credit card was used at a local gas station shortly after. Porterville Police say that on Oct. 18 detectives had been following up on the cases and developed a suspect, who they identified as 37-year-old, Brandon Gonzalez. Detectives authored a warrant for Gonzalez at his residence and said they attempted to contact him, however, he resisted with force and was able to evade them and flee from the scene. According to police, on Oct. 23, detectives surrounded Gonzalez's home and attempted to convince him to surrender. Gonzalez refused to surrender, and detectives entered the residence to apprehend him, according to police. Once entry was made into the residence, police say he surrendered and was taken into custody without incident. 33-year-old, Kimberly Austin, 37-year-old, Brandon Gonzalez Police say Gonzalez's girlfriend, 33-year-old, Kimberly Austin was also located in the residence. During the service of a search warrant, detectives say they were able to recover over $2,200 worth of property belonging to victims. According to police, as a result of the investigation, it was determined Gonzalez and Austin had been conspiring together regarding the crimes. They were also found to be allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia and ammunition, according to police. Police say Gonzalez was a convicted felon prohibited from possessing ammunition. Gonzalez and Austin were arrested and booked at the Tulare County South County Detention Facility, according to police. Police say Gonzalez is being held without bail and Austin is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
