SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A suspect in connection to a series of burglaries across San Francisco was arrested on Oct. 18, the San Francisco Police Department announced Thursday in a news release. Three burglaries occurred in three different neighborhoods across the city dating back to March. The suspect -- a 35-year-old man of unknown residence with outstanding warrants out of San Francisco and Sacramento -- was arrested after SFPD responded to a burglary at the Opera Plaza on the 600 block of Van Ness Avenue. When officers arrived, there were "obvious signs of forced entry to the business." SFPD said the suspect had already run away by the time police arrived. Although he tried to escape, officers were able to arrest the suspect without incident, SFPD said. It was later discovered the man was also involved in two additional burglaries of San Francisco businesses, according to SFPD. One happened on March 3 in the Ingleside District and the other on Aug. 3 in the Central District. The suspect was booked into San Francisco County Jail and is facing 18 different charges, according to jail records. Those charges include second-degree burglary, felony vandalism, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest.
