PARSONS, Kan. — Two people riding in a horse and buggy were seriously injured after a crash with another vehicle Thursday morning near Parsons. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a horse and buggy was eastbound on U400 near mile marker 389 and was "halfway in the outside lane and shoulder" when it was struck in the rear by a 2023 Ford Escape also heading eastbound in the outside lane around 8:15 a.m. The buggy driver, a 35-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 16-year-old girl, both of Cherryvale, were seriously injured in the wreck. They were taken to Labette County Health in Parsons for treatment where their status is unknown at this time. Priscilla was wearing a safety restraint, the crash report said.
