TOPEKA (KSNT) - Work crews will be closing part of I-470 and numerous ramps on I-70 this week for pavement marking work in Topeka. The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) said in a press release on Oct. 24 that it will be shutting down westbound I-470 and several I-70 exit ramps temporarily. The closures will start at 6 p.m. on Oct. 24 and run to 6 a.m. on Oct. 25. Kate Craft with KDOT said westbound I-470 will be shut down from Wanamaker Road to I-70. Drivers can exit the highway at Wanamaker Road/Huntoon Street and follow a detour route on Wanamaker Road back to I-70. The Huntoon Street on-ramp to westbound I-470 will also be closed to traffic. This closure will be in place again from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 25. Eastbound I-70 ramp closure. Exit ramp to I-470. Westbound I-70 ramp closures. Fairlawn Road. Danbury Lane. Northbound U.S. 75.
