SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) -  The annual 'Spooky Safari' event at The Zoo in Forest Park is being held this Saturday. A look at how dry Massachusetts has been The family-friendly Halloween event features a trick-or-treat trail for kids, crafts, a zoo-wide scavenger hunt, face painting, free books, animal encounters, and more. The Spooky Safari will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Meatball the Lionhead rabbit Visitors are welcome to dress in costume and a contest will be held for the funniest, most creative, or best group by a panel of the Zoo’s staff. Children are being asked to bring a bag for the trick-or-treat trail. “Spooky Safari is our last big event before we close for the season,” said Gabry Tyson, assistant executive director at The Zoo in Forest Park. “Not only is it a fun opportunity for families to visit before we close, but the funds raised from this event help prepare us for the off-season.” Tickets are required in advance: $9 Member Adults Ages 13 and up with a valid Zoo membership $13 Non-Member Adults Ages 13 and up $5 Member Children Ages 1-12 with a valid Zoo membership $8 Non-Member Children Ages 1-12 $7 Member Seniors/Military 62+ or military with a valid military ID with a Zoo membership $9 Non-Member Seniors/Military 62+ and military with valid military ID Local News Headlines Minor injuries reported in three-car collision in Springfield Sen.
