Tigers look for 4th straight victory on Homecoming
Oct 24, 2024
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah State football team has won three straight games as they continue preparations for Lane College.
Last week, the Tigers went on the road to Jacksonville and defeated Edwards Waters, 27-20. This was the first game Jhaydon Sullivan did not split reps at quarterback, and he was sensational. He was 14 of 18 passing for 256 yards and four touchdowns.
The big stat for head coach Aaron Kelton is no turnovers. This week, they face a 2-5 Lane College team. The most important thing on Coach Kelton's mind is keeping his team focused during homecoming.
"You're going to have the distractions," Kelton said. "There's no avoiding the distractions. So, we embrace that part of it. But we know when we get time on the field, we have to do our best."
The game between Savannah State and Lane College kicks off Saturday at 3 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
