That was how a witness inside Duran's back in January, described the scene in Old Town after a gun went off, wounding a man in the head. The Albuquerque Police Department later identified Amanda Sheppard and her boyfriend Jonathan Olivas as the two suspects involved.  On Thursday, Sheppard walked away with a plea deal. A criminal complaint said three days after the shooting, investigators caught up with Sheppard and Olivas, who said they were eating when Sheppard's purse dropped to the ground and the gun went off. Olivas then admitted to picking up a casing from the ground and walking out.  Meanwhile, Sheppard was caught on camera helping the victim-- before meeting her boyfriend, Olivas, outside and then leaving. Sheppard told police she heard a pop, didn't know what it was, and assumed a highchair hit the floor. She then claimed to police, she got the gun from a friend and didn't have a concealed carry permit. She added she didn't know it was in her purse that day. Her boyfriend, Olivas, pled guilty last month to evidence tampering and blamed Sheppard.   "She is the one who had the illegal firearm in her purse. She is the one that resulted in those injuries," said Defense Attorney Amy Williams.  Prosecutors filed four charges against Sheppard, including three counts related to the gun. On Thursday, the Bernalillo County District Attorney's Office said Sheppard pled no contest to a single count of tampering with evidence.
