RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginians looking to travel to see peak fall foliage should check out the Virginia Department of Forestry's Facebook page for up-to-date information on where to go. The department is posting weekly fall foliage reports on its Facebook page, showing how far each of Virginia's regions are in the color-changing process. According to this week's report, parts of the Piedmont region, as well as Southwest Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley will be near peak color by this weekend and most of the Richmond region is currently experiencing "patchy" or minimal fall foliage. The department is hosting a guided tour of fall foliage in Dinwiddie County on Friday, Oct. 25 in partnership with the Virginia Cooperative Extension's Virginia Forest Landowner Education Program.
