NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — High pressure will continue to dominate the region's weather, keeping conditions dry and warm.
Overnight fog is likely to become more widespread over the next two nights as moisture increases slightly. While some areas may experience visibility dropping to one mile or less, no dense fog is currently expected.
Temperatures will remain above normal for this time of year, with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s and lows in the upper 50s to 60s.
There is no significant rain in the forecast, and the area is experiencing worsening drought conditions. According to the latest update, severe drought has been identified in parts of the region, with abnormally dry conditions covering much of the northwestern areas.
A cold front is expected to stall north of the area this weekend, so no cooler air will move in, and temperatures will stay well above average.
