Lincoln Police cruiser. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Oct. 24)–An injury accident shortly before 9pm Wednesday, involving a Honda Accord and a Lincoln Police car. This happened at Rosa Parks Way and South Folsom Street, where the LPD cruiser was eastbound on Rosa Parks Way, while the car driven by a 66-year-old Lincoln man was northbound, when he ran a stop sign and drove into the intersection, in front of the cruiser. Lincoln Police say the officer swerved to try to avoid hitting the car, but struck it. The driver of the Honda Accord was taken to a hospital for minor injuries, while the officer was not hurt. Police say the crash was recorded on the in-car camera system. At last check, no citations have been issued.
