Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase unique gifts and souvenirs straight from Ukraine. Additionally, a prize will be awarded for the best costume. All proceeds from the event will support the ongoing mission to provide essential medical resources in Ukraine.Ukrainian Jersey City, initially established to foster community building and cultural sharing, adapted its mission in light of the humanitarian crisis that erupted following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The organization has expanded its efforts to include refugee support, as well as the collection of essential medical supplies and hospital equipment. The Ambulances for Ukraine initiative has successfully purchased 17 evacuation and medical vehicles for Ukrainian medics over the past two years. The last delivery included two med-evac vehicles acquired after a successful fundraiser in March that raised $22,000, which have collectively helped evacuate hundreds of soldiers from the front lines. “Last time, we were able to raise about $20,000,” said Natalia Bezpalka, CFO of Ukrainian Jersey City. “We’re hoping to replicate that success and get close to the same outcome this time.”“Our project’s a little different, as we need to plan for it and raise the funds before we can move forward. That’s why we’ve focused on special events specifically targeted toward raising funds for those vehicles. The war is still ongoing, and it remains very difficult. There are still many people dying and suffering injuries, so it’s certainly not going to end anytime soon. We’re doing what we can,” said Natalia Bezpalko, CFO of Ukrainian Jersey City. “Last time, we were able to raise about $20,000.
