GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Green Bay Packers (5-2) are hot, even after Sunday's 'Winter Warning' game victory over the Houston Texans (5-2). Looking to make it four in a row, the Packers will fly to Jacksonville for a date with the Jaguars, their first matchup between the two since Nov. 2020. The Jaguars are 2-5 after a win over the Patriots at Wembley Stadium in London. The Winning Edge: DFS & Spread Advantages for NFL Week 8 The Jaguars finished their games in England 1-1 after being blown out by the Bears. They'll have to jump into their normal schedule without a bye week to readjust. The Packers, led by quarterback Jordan Love, will look to continue their winning ways through aerial dominance. While some may point to Love's eight interceptions, others may look at his 15 touchdowns, which he's accrued in just five games. Love has only been sacked seven times in five games as well, which points to his ability to evade losses, but also the offensive line's prowess. The Jaguars on the defensive side have gotten to the quarterback 16 times, which puts them exactly in the middle of the pack. Before the Packers head to Jacksonville aiming for win No. 6, it's time to look deeper at the stats in Prior to the Snap. While he's only hauled in 14 of those passes for an average of 25.9 yards per game, he's tied with tight end Tucker Kraft for the team lead in touchdowns, with four. Wicks is averaging 12.9 yards per catch, with 181 yards on the year. The Jaguars may have just had their best performance on the defensive side of the ball in 2024, but that comes against a now 1-6 Patriots team whose rookie quarterback made his second start. Wicks may not be the No. 1 guy, but the Jaguars will surely have their eyes on Reed and Romeo Doubs, which could pave the way for Wicks, who leads the WR room in redzone targets, to have another touchdown, or two. PREDICTION: Wicks has his best game as a pro, with two scores and 87 yards on 6 catches. Players to Watch WR Brian Thomas Jr. (AP Photo/Steve Luciano) The rookie Brian Thomas Jr. has been a bright spot amidst an ugly season for the Jaguars, led by quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Thomas has earned 21.3% of the team's targets this year, with 45 passes headed to him, and he's caught 30 of them. Thomas is a true deep threat, with 322 yards coming before the catch, and 191 coming after. He's by far the team leader in yards with 513, and he's also hauled in four touchdowns. The Packers will likely focus a lot of attention on Thomas, however, espeically after their stout defensive performance against the Texans. But, it's hard to see a game where Thomas doesn't get his targets, and he's been as reliable as it gets for a rookie wideout. While the Packers defense may have their fun on Sunday, Thomas should still get some nice plays. PREDICTION: Thomas hauls in one touchdown and 117 yards, catching eight out of 11 targets from Lawrence. The Jaguars have been remarkably bad this season, and as mentioned above, their best performance was against a 1-win team with a rookie QB in his second start. The Packers should win this game pretty easily, at least on paper. They're the better roster and their coaching is better. Prediction: Packers will win this game 31-14, with Love throwing for three more touchdowns, and running back Josh Jacobs scoring another one.
