CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man pleaded guilty Thursday for shooting and killing his co-worker at a Cook Out in northwest Charlotte back in March.
Malek Crosby, 20, was arrested on March 18th in connection to the shooting death of 26-year-old Jaselyn Horne.
It happened around 5 a.m. the day before at the Cook Out on Sunset Road near Beatties Ford Road. The restaurant had closed for the night, and the employees were in the process of cleaning up before clocking out.
Witnesses said an argument between the two workers started over cleaning duties before gunshots were fired inside the restaurant.
Crosby was originally charged with first-degree murder but pleaded guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter. He was sentenced to 51-74 months in prison.
