CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- Election Day is less than two weeks away, and hundreds of thousands of South Carolinians have already voted in person or by mail. If you are one of the many registered voters who is voting absentee this election, you can track your ballot to make sure it is received and counted by your county voter registration office. Voters can check the status of their absentee requests and track their ballot on the South Carolina Election Commission website. There, you will be asked to enter your name, county, date of birth, and the last four digits of your social security number. Voter Guide: What to know for the Nov. 5 general election South Carolina allows some voters who are unable to make it to the polls during the early voting period or on Election Day to request an absentee ballot. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. on the 11th day prior to an election, which falls on Oct. 25 for the 2024 general election. Requests must be made in person at your county voter registration office, by mail, or by phone. State law no longer allows applications to be requested online or by email.
