TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — University of South Florida Athletics announced that head men's basketball coach Amir Abdur-Rahim died Thursday. The 43-year-old Georgia native was said to be "undergoing a medical procedure at a Tampa-area hospital" when he died from complications during the procedure. Due to his success, the coach was named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year during the past season.
