Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office to sell jambalaya plates, help dispatcher diagnosed with breast cancer

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A fundraiser for an Ascension Parish dispatcher battling breast cancer has been set for Friday, Oct. 25.
Sgt. Tonya Joseph, who currently serves as a 911 dispatcher for the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. According to a news release, it has metastasized to her bones.
"As she embarks on her journey, we want to help ease her and her family’s burden," APSO said.
The sheriff's office will sell $10 Jambalaya plates which can be picked up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ascension Parish Governmental Annex. The building is located at 828 South Irma Blvd.

According to APSO, orders of 25 or more can be delivered.
