BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested an alleged drug dealer after an investigation. According to the police, officers started an investigation where they learned a suspect, who has been identified as 25-year-old Richie Brown, reportedly sold drugs from an apartment complex on Monet Drive. On Oct. 23, detectives and agents conducted a search warrant of the apartment. Brown exited the apartment and was taken into custody. Detectives learned Brown's five-month-old son lives in the apartment as well. During the search, agents found the following: Three marijuana bags with 11.6 grams, 10.6 grams and 10.6 grams. Large bag of marijuana weighing 397 grams. Plastic bag with eight pills, suspected to be MDMA. Loaded handgun with an extended magazine. Two Apple iPhones. Black digital scale. Box of sandwich bags for packaging. Brown was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of two counts of possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule I drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal carrying of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a felon and illegal use of controlled substances in the presence of minors.
