BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Coroner's Office identified a 2-year-old girl who was killed after suspected child abuse in south Bakersfield. Officials with the coroner's office say Shelly Rose Harrison, 2, of Bakersfield suffered “traumatic injuries consistent with abuse," in the 300 block of Vernal Place on Oct. 10. Harrison was transported to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital where she died. Gregory MacDonald, the girl’s stepfather, and Chandy McCarthy, the girl’s mother, are charged with crimes including second-degree murder.
