WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- An investigation is underway in Southeast D.C. after multiple scooters were intentionally set on fire overnight, according to the DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD). Vito Maggiolo with the fire department told DC News Now that around 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 24, firefighters were called to the 5000 block of B Steet where they found four scooters in flames. Maggiolo said a citizen used a fire extinguisher before they arrived. DC firefighters rescue man trapped in car after water main break A fire investigator responded to the scene and determined that someone intentionally set the scooters on fire. DC News Now obtained a doorbell camera video from the area that showed a group of people walking toward the home. In the video, the group stops in front of the home and a large fire breaks out. That's when the group runs from the area. The incident is under investigation. D.C. police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call police at 202-727-9099 or text the department's text tip line at 50411. The fire department is also encouraging anyone with information to call the arson tip line at 202-673-ARSON.
