The cold front came through last night, but it was only noticeable from the few clouds it brought. Besides that, it didn't produce any rainfall as our extended dry stretch continues through the end of the week. Gusty winds have also been common with the front passing by, and these gusty winds will continue out of the northwest through the end of the day. Wind speeds of 15-25 mph are expected, ushering in chillier air. High temperatures today will be 10-15 degrees lower than the last few days, with peak readings in the low to mid-60s for most. The combination of gusty winds and extremely dry conditions will keep an elevated risk for wildfires around today, so take caution with open flames and embers while outdoors. Winds will go calm tonight as another ridge of high pressure settles across the East Coast. Clear skies will allow temperatures to plummet, with lows in the 30s and 40s. Areas of frost will be possible west of I-95 in the valleys, so if you still have plants outdoors, take steps to protect them. Friday will be beautiful, with sunny skies and high temperatures around 70 degrees. Another cold front will arrive Friday night into Saturday morning, bringing another wave of clouds and keeping overnight low temperatures elevated, back into the 50s. Yet again, this front won't produce any rainfall except for a few stray showers over the mountains. Another round of breezy northwest winds will follow this second front during the day on Saturday, elevating the risk of wildfires once again. Temperatures will still be seasonable to begin the weekend, but a second burst of much colder air will arrive on Sunday and Monday. High temperatures will struggle to get out of the 50s on these days, with lows back down into the 30s. Rain will remain absent from the forecast straight through the middle of next week, with high pressure hanging out off the Atlantic Coast. Sunny skies and a southerly wind will push warmth back into the region, with highs in the upper 70s again by Halloween next Thursday. Have a great rest of your Thursday! 7-Day Forecast: Today: Mostly sunny and breezy. Winds: NNW 15-25 mph, High: 67 (62-70) Tonight: Mostly clear with frost possible.
