WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The 101st Kansas Honor Flight returned to Wichita on Wednesday. Community members and families of the veterans were at the Red Roof Inn on West Kellogg to celebrate and honor their service. It was a welcome home many did not get when they returned from service overseas. Organizers and veterans say these trips bring a sense of closure, pride, and camaraderie. "When we come back, you know, we weren't treated well, and this whole trip has given me a different perspective, has made you feel different, and I hope they keep it up. Got a lot of veterans that deserve this far more than I do," David Dipman, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, said. More than 4,200 Kansas veterans have taken an honor flight to Washington.
