GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Governor Maura Healey will be in Greenfield to announce new funding to provide free public transportation across the state. Governor Healey will join local and state officials to announce $30 million in state funding to provide year-round, fare-free public transportation from select stations across the state and here in western Mass.  MBTA Board Chair Glynn stepping down Nov. 1 It's part of the $58 billion fiscal year 2025 state budget signed by Healey in July and the governor, other state leaders, and Greenfield Mayor Ginny Desorgher will give more information at a news conference Thursday at 2 p.m. at the John W. Olver Transit Center in Greenfield.
